How To Make Paper Placemats

To make these paper placemats, I started by selecting patterned scrapbook paper to match my theme. I wanted my table to have a spring feel, so I chose colorful patterns with florals.

I used six different spring patterned sheets of scrapbook paper. They were 12x12 in size and cost between $0.59-$1.59 each. You can purchase a variety pack of scrapbook cardstock which is great to have on hand!

TIP: Look for a pack that is 12x12 in size, has textured pages, and a variety of colors. You can start your search with this link on Amazon.

One you have your paper selected, it is as simple as just putting it on your table like you would a typical placemat. I created 6 different spring place setting ideas. You can make these to match any party theme or occasion because the paper patterns are endless!

I like to use clear glass plates so that more of the scrapbook paper shows through!

Use coordinating strips of scrapbook paper (I cut 2" strips) to make paper napkin rings. You can also use this template to personalize your paper napkin rings. Secure the paper napkin rings with tape or glue.

Will you make these DIY paper placemats for your next party? I love the idea of making coloring pages for kids party placemats. I did these for my daughter's 5th breakfast birthday party! You can also use old book pages as placemats or table runners.

If you're looking for more easy and affordable party DIYs, consider making this tissue paper pom poms or this easy DIY cake topper you can personalize.

I like this idea, but would even suggest laminating the scrapbook paper. That way they can be washed and used again, plus they will be a bit sturdier. I'm sure it doesn't cost too much to stop by Kinkos and get a few sheets laminated!

I love using scrapbook paper on the tables. I love to take this andplace a piece of vellum with scalloped edges on top, add a flower to each corner with a big brad & you have ultra cute placemat.
