Love is Elementary

I saw this real wedding feature and I just love it! Perhaps it is the innocence of this school themed wedding, or the simple romantic idea of marrying your best friend from 4th grade–regardless, I have to share it with you!

Here is the one of a kind nostalgia wedding of Minhee and Truman.

The invitations for this school themed wedding play on the design of old school library cards. I love this idea and actually used old library cards for this special book themed baby shower I hosted.

What a cute idea to use old fashioned school desks for a photo op at a school themed wedding! You can probably find one of these at an auction of thrift store if you start looking early.

A teacher's desk held the guests' place cards which were a single apple. This is such a cute idea! I would work great for a grad school party idea as well.

Which were apples adorned with a numbered stickers. Each apple sat atop a hand printed piece of graph paper which included the guests' names.

Table decor for a school wedding theme

Chalkboard table runner? What screams elementary school more than that? This couple created theirs using black rolled paper and chalk. What a simple but impactful idea for table decor!

I love this fussy-free hand tied bouquet. Using stacks of books is a great way to pull in that school theme.

Guests posed for polaroid pics in front of a large chalkboard then inserted them into this guest book. Writing messages to the happy couple, this idea has that "yearbook" feel that is just so fun!

Many of these idea would also work for a school themed baby shower!

More Fun Ideas For A School Theme Wedding

  • Have the couple's actual year books on display with bookmarks on special pages
  • Make a "pop quiz" with facts about the couple's history together (this would be really cute for a bridal shower game as well)
  • Serve dinner on a cafeteria tray
  • For late night snacks make bags with chocolate chip cookies that say "after school snacks" (I did that here)
  • Make apple cake pops
  • Give guests personalized bookmarks as wedding favors
