You Need To Make These Pretty Flower Ice Cubes

This is a DIY you'll probably use over, and over. If you want to dress up your beverage display, make these super simple DIY flower ice cubes.

I love a good entertaining hack. I like to come up with easy and affordable ideas that make a big impression (like turning a pineapple into a centerpiece or making a cluster of tissue paper pom poms).

flower ice cubes are a wow factor

You probably already have all the supplies on hand to make pretty flower ice cubes. I recently made a video on Pinterest to show you how to make these–I promise, they are so easy!

If you're having guests over, make these DIY flower ice cubes ahead of time and you'll be ready to chill your wine or champagne in a way that will definitely impress guests.

They're also a great idea for those Easter or Valentine's Day cocktails!

Supplies to Make Flower Ice Cubes

  • Any ice cube mold, I like to use a large silicone mold
  • Heads of flowers (I like to use flowers from arrangements that I have that are not going to last much longer)
  • Scissors
  • Hot water

How to make floral ice cubes at home

It's really easy to make these pretty floral cubes.

Start by trimming heads of flowers off. I like to use flowers from arrangements I have that aren't going to last much longer. You can also clip flowers from your yard, or pick some up from the market it you don't have any on hand.

Next, you'll want to fill up the ice cube tray with hot water. The reason you use hot water is because this helps make a more clear ice cube. Your ice cubes won't be perfectly clear with this method but I think they cubes are just as pretty.

It turns out, making perfectly clear ice cubes at home is quite the process.

Then, pop the filled ice cube tray into the freezer for 24 hours.

You can repeat this as many times as you need to make your desired number of floral cubes. Once frozen, you can transfer the cubes to a ziplock bag and leave in the freezer so you can use your mold to make more.

Flower ice cubes for chilling wine

When you're ready to use your floral cubes, simple put them in your ice bucket or beverage container to chill your wine or champagne bottles. Guests will be impressed with these pretty cubes!

I also like to use fresh flowers as a simple cake topper!
