I do one thing pretty consistently every year, and that's come up with new Saint Patrick's Day cereal ideas.
The kid in me wants any excuse to buy a box of Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms, Froot Loops, or Trix. (By the way, it's so perfect that they are all rainbow colored, right?) Some of my past ideas were Lucky Charms donuts and Cereal Covered Mini Ice Cream Cakes.
This year, when I was thinking of new ways to use cereal for a simple Saint Patrick's Day treat for my girls, I decided that I also wanted to make a little gift. That's when the idea for a shamrock glasses rimmed with Fruity Pebbles came to me.
I picked up two stemless wine glasses from the dollar store (these are pretty big ones which I liked. But, any glass with a smooth surface will work). You can also get a set of 4 for around $13 on Amazon. I used my Cricut Explore Air™ machine to make the green shamrock decals.
Adding a decal is such a fun way to add some fun flair for any occasion. It's easy to do and after you can easily peel it off leaving no residue behind.
I poured some Karo syrup onto a small plate and and a pile of Fruity Pebbles cereal on a separate small plate. To rim the glasses, I simply turned each upside down and first, firmly pressed down into the Karo syrup coating the rim, then I placed the glass (rim down) firmly into the pile of cereal to get them to "stick" to the rim. That was it!
P.S. I use the Karo Syrup trick to rim glasses for many of my cocktail recipes too!
The last thing to do was to fill each glass with green milk. So easy! You can fill these with anything (even a milkshake, YUM) for an easy Saint Patrick's Day treat. My daughters loved these and I'm sure they are going to use this glass all week long.
If you're looking for more Saint Patrick's Day cereal ideas, you've come to the right place!
