I told you all about my trip last year to the Kentucky Derby and my new obsession with Bourbon when I shared this Kentucky Mule recipe earlier this week, so it should be no surprise that I have a real case of Derby fever. (it's a real thing, just ask my husband.)
In preparation for the Derby weekend I made a couple Kentucky Derby printable signs to frame and put around the house. I'm putting one on my mantel and one on my bar cart! I wanted to share them with you as well. You can print them for free below.
"Talk Derby To Me" is my favorite by far. (Print it here)
Although this "Let's Get Down & Derby" is also a great choice! (Print it here)
I just keep thinking about other Derby sayings that would make great signs. How about:
Hold your horses
Off to the races
Get off my Jock (Oh wait, that's a RHONY reference).
Kentucky Derby Outfit Ideas
I am most excited about the Derby race of course, but it's fun to watch (and bet) all of them leading up. And of course there's the fashion! I don't have great photos, but here's a look at what the Mr. and I wore to the Derby last year.
Friday's race is Kentucky Oaks where the 3 year-old fillies take center stage. It's also a tradition that everyone wear PINK in honor of breast cancer awareness. Pretty sure we nailed it. The drink of the day is called "Oaks Lilly" in honor of the Lilly garland the winning horse receives. Grab the recipe here.
Derby Day we went for a blue theme. My favorite was the horseshoe bowtie he wore. They have so many great options for guys at Vinyard Vines. It was SO much fun to be there in person, but you can definitely celebrate at home. Here's the official Kentucky Derby menu if you really want to go all in.
PS. THIS is what I'll be sipping while watching the Derby–it's my new Blackberry Bourbon Smash recipe, and it's delicious!
