About four months ago, I read The Friday Night Knitting Club- and I often still think about that story with the cute characters and that charming little Manhattan yarn shop. No, I do not know how to knit- but ever since I read this book I have been dying to learn how! Perhaps I will have the spare time in the future to learn but for know why not just throw a knitting- themed party? This would be a cute party theme for a birthday of someone you loves to knit, for Mother's Day, or just to surprise Grammy.

This is just the most adorable cake I have seen! Loving the giant balls of yarn. Visit Cake Journal and find out how to make a knitting basket cake yourself.
For your party decor, the gang at the DIY Network has a step by step tutorial on how to make over sized yarn centerpieces which would go perfectly with your knitting basket cake!

And for a little blog love, I came across this knitting blog Wool and the Gang and can't get enough of it- even though I am a wanna-be-someday-knitter... I still think it rocks!
Oh and during my knitting party inspiration search, I discovered that there is now a sequel to the book that started my infatuation with knitting- so I will be heading out to pick up my copy of Knit Two and get my "fix."

I started "The Saturday Knitting Society" last Fall for all the girlfriends and wives of the Football widows. I would bake something sweet and have them in each Saturday. I taught those who did not previously know how. It was a huge success! If you're ever in NYC on a Saturday next Fall - By all means, be my guest!
Warm regards,
