Football fan or not, Super Bowl Sunday is a great reason to grab a few friends and have some fun! Here are few simple ideas to inspire you to "kick-off" your party planning now!
#1 Invites
One simple detail about Superbowl is how informal it is....so go ahead, send out an invitation straight to every one's email inbox! Check out evite.com for a fun selection of football-themed evites!
#2 Table Top Decor
This is the perfect occasion to ditch your old linen table cloths and let loose! Pick up a few yards of astro-turf from your nearest home supply store and cover your table tops with this fake field! Go the extra "yard" and create yard lines using white masking tape!
#3 Toss Away Plates/Napkins
Don't waste time washing dishes, grab some simple solid plates and napkins. Buy green or brown to tie into the football theme or buy the team colors of that particular game.
#4 Food: Serve it up Simple!
Serve an array of appetizers that can be eaten using your hands. This will make for easy snacking throughout the game day. Buffalo wings and sliders are always a favorite among crowds {and are simple to prepare and serve}. We also love this recipe for these chicken and cheese empanadas from Paula Dean! For dessert stick with the hands-only rule and make a platter of cookies, brownies, or cupcakes.
#5 Sporty Decor
Superbowl doesn't require too much fluff, but you might still want to decorate a bit. I like these football paper lanterns. You can hang them on your front porch, from your back patio or even inside from the ceiling. Bonus: They can be taken down, stored and reused!
#6 Football Fun
These inflatable Goal Posts and Football make double as decor and entertainment for little ones not so interested in the actual game. Check here for more great football fun and game ideas.
#7 Sporty Hostess Attire
To tie the whole party together {and add a little party flare} wear referee attire. You can find black & white striped referee attire at most sporting good stores, if not you can always check your local party store this time of year. What a unique way to be a fabulous {dressed} hostess!
#8 Beverages With A Twist
Most Super Bowl parties will call for beer, but why not offer this twist on the average beer (your female guests will love it).
Beer-garita
Ingredients1 (6-pack) light beer
1 can frozen limeade
1 lime, sliced in half
Directions
Pour beer into a large pitcher. Add still-frozen limeade and stir to combine. (Stirring with a metal utensil can reduce foam.) Allow foam to settle. Squeeze half a lime into pitcher. Finely slice the other lime half and place into pitcher, for garnish. Pour into chilled glasses and serve cold. Enjoy! ...........................................................................................................................................................................
