You guys, these strawberry shortcake donuts are so simple to make. And, they look fancy so you're totally going to impress your people if you make them.

I’ve been on a donut-making kick lately because you can make so many variations and they are pretty easy to make. Especially if you’re like me and you take shortcuts. I like baking donuts in the oven using a donut pan.

I love baking but don’t have a lot of time, so I often think of ways I can make recipes easier and faster. These strawberry shortcake donuts were so simple to whip up!

I decided to make them for a brunch I recently had. A few friends and I gathered one Saturday morning to visit and have a little time just chatting over coffee. These donuts went perfectly with our tea and coffee, and they were simple enough to whip up that morning before guests arrived.

My secret weapon for homemade donuts is boxed cake mix. I pick a flavor (here I used pink velvet) and then jazz it up a little. By placing sliced strawberries right into the batter, I made these donuts seem extra special.

There are many ways to bake donuts. My preferred method is cheating by starting with a box if cake mix! The cake mix bakes up nice and fluffy, not dense at all. So your donuts still have that lighter, airy texture to them.

You'll need a donut pan which you can grab from Amazon, here.

Once the donuts are cooled, top with a generous drizzle of Philadelphia Cream Cheese icing (recipe below) and sliced fresh strawberries.

In under 30 minutes, you will have the most delicious donut.. Make them this weekend for a special morning treat.

You can serve them for brunch like I did, or even as a dessert. I mean, think how amazing they would taste with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! YUM.

If you have extra cream cheese icing, store in an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator. You can use the extra to make these simple graham cracker treats.
