This simple DIY sunglasses bag project was inspired by a way to solve my own problem (protect my sunglasses when I throw them in my purse or beach bag) but turned into a pretty fun gift idea.
It costs less than $2.00 to make!
Make these painted canvas bags and give them to your sunglass-wearing gals pals.
I picked up these small canvas drawstring bags on Amazon. I bet you can find them at any local craft store as well. Then, I began painting super simple designs on them using paints I already had on hand.
I love a good craft project that doesn't require me to purchase specific supplies.
Supplies Needed To Make A Sunglasses Bag
- Small Canvas Bags with Drawstrings
- Craft Paints (that are not washable)
- Small Paintbrushes
No need for perfection when painting. Just paint any design your little heart desires. This sunglasses bag will be unique and all your own.
When you're done painting, let them dry.
Kids and teens also love this project. It would be fun to do at a birthday party or summer gathering!
Then gather your sunnies and put them in. Now your shades will be protected!
You could put almost anything in these little bags. I think gifting them with a cheap pair of sunglasses for the littles in your life would be super fun.
Frequently asked questions about this craft
You could almost use any paint you have on hand. I would suggest not using washable paint though if you think this bag might get wet (like in your beach bag!).
Here I used typical craft paints I had lying around.
If your paint is washable–no, do not wash these bags or your paint will likely come off and transfer to other items.
If you're using other paints and need to wash these bags, I would handwash them and let them air dry.

This is such a cute idea! I don't really wear sunglasses but I feel like this little pouch idea would be perfect for a little digital camera pouch as well!
Thanks for sharing :D

Totally love this idea! Sunglasses are such a hit at parties and corporate events alike, the bag gives you a way to brand it to a company and protect the glasses in one place. And yes, agree completely; you can re-use the bags for all sorts of things.
Super cool share!
