It's spring, which means the Mr. and I have gotten dirty replanting our garden. We have a pepper box that never fails to produce WAY more jalapeños than we can consume. We eat them raw, stuffed, chopped, pickled and baked into bread. It was only a matter of time before we figured out how to drink them too.
disclaimer: you shouldn't drink this if you don't like a little heat

4 Step Directions to The Perfect Jalapeno Martini
- The first step is to make sure you've chilled your martini glasses in the freezer for at least ten minutes. Trust me, it makes ALL the difference when you're making a martini–sipping it from a nice chilled glass the only way.
- Next, add your ingredients to your cocktail shaker filled with ice theres only three!)
- Then, shake well and then strain into your chilled martini glasses
- Lastly, garnish

Jalapeño Martini Alternative preparation Method
You can also infuse your vodka with jalapeno ahead of time. I find this makes a WAY spicier martini so beware!)
In a small glass or jar, infuse your favorite vodka by combining 6 ounces vodka (double if you're making two drinks) juice of one lemon, and ½ - 1 sliced jalapeno (seeds removed). For most people, ½ a jalapeno will due. If you're living on the edge, put a full one in there. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
To make: Pour infused vodka over ice in shaker and shake it well. Strain into your favorite chilled martini glass. Garnish with a slice of jalapeno and lemon zest.
What to Serve With Your Jalapeno Martini
Whether I'm having guests over for cocktail hour or just enjoying one on my back patio with the Mr., I always like to have a little something to nibble on. Depending on how hungry you are or how much effort you'd like to put into it (totally not judging on this one!), here are some snacks and appetizers that pair well with this martini recipe:
- Bowl of salted mixed nuts
- Sea salt popcorn (I love this as a snack with a spicy cocktail!)
- Bacon wrapped dates
- Cream cheese stuffed peppers (they have no heat so it doesn't conflict with the jalapeno martini)
