The Easiest St. Patrick's Day Treat

Looking for a little something thoughtful to do for the kids on St. Patrick's Day? This is what I have planned for my girls–a little simple St Patrick's day treat.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most popular. This post has been pinned over 245,000 times

This will be an extra special treat to wake up to because they never get to have "sugary" cereal for breakfast (it's dessert in our house!).

You could also make this for a fun afternoon snack or dessert for St. Patrick's Day. Honestly, this St. Patrick's Day treat will work anytime of the day!

Small glass jars filled with green milk (of course!). Cupcake liners filled with Lucky Charms cereal. On the breakfast tray, I've placed a little love note to my two daughters that reads "I'm over the rainbow in love with you girls."

In each jar, a yellow and white striped paper straw.

Alternative St. Patrick's Day Treat Ideas

You can put a spin on this super easy treat by just swapping out the Lucky Charms cereal for Trix or Fruity Pebbles cereal which are also rainbow colored. Here are some other ideas and recipes for St. Patrick's Day:

  • Make funfetti donuts and top them with Lucky Charms
  • Rim a glass with Fruity Pebbles and fill it with green milk
  • Make a stir stick using Fruit Loops and put it in your kids' green milk
  • Make some classic green pancakes!
  • Make a rainbow gumball necklace
  • Make mini ice cream cakes topped with rainbow cereal

Which cupcake liners did you use? From browsing the site, it looks like I need to get the pick-a-mix. Is that right?

Hi Adrianne, I just used whatever I had in my kitchen. Just basic cupcake liners ( I doubled them up to make it a bit more sturdy).

I LOVE this idea! I don't even have kids, but I'm going to make this for my husband on St. Patrick's day because we, too, only keep sugary cereal in the house as dessert (hence why we call it "dessert cereal"). It'll be fun to have some with green milk for breakfast!
