Looking for easy 4th of July recipes? Here are a few of my favorite creative recipes that I spotted on Pinterest. When I'm entertaining or bringing a dish to a party, I always aim to make easy recipes–no need to overcomplicate things if you don't have to!
Which will you make?
1. Patriotic Jicama Salsa
This Blueberry, Strawberry & Jicama Salsa is not only full of color but full of fresh flavor. I love the crunch jicama gives so this is a must-make alternative to traditional salsa in my book.
2. Brownie and Fruit Kebabs
These Fruit and Brownie Kebabs are the perfect Fourth of July potluck dessert. I love that they are so easy you can even enlist the kids to help make them!
3. Red, White & Blue Sangria
If you don't feel like fussing over making rounds of cocktails at your 4th of July party, make a big pitcher of this Red, White and Blue Sangria. It's easy to make (you'll need a star cookie cutter) and will please a crowd. Be sure to use a glass pitcher so the patriotic fruit can be seen!
Tips for Making These 4th of July Recipes
- You can make a non-alcoholic version of the sangria by replacing the alcohol ingredients with equal parts lemonade and club soda.
- You can use a star cookie cutter in many ways like: jicama, watermelon, white cheese such as monterey jack, bread for small sandwiches
- If you're going to travel with the brownie kebabs you can freeze them beforehand. They will thaw quickly and will be perfectly ready to eat in about 30 minutes
The Key to Easy 4th of July Recipes
Whether you're hosting a backyard bbq or heading out to a potluck, choosing recipes that are easy is important (at least to me!). Here's what I think about when deciding what recipes to make:
- Does it have just a few ingredients?
- Does it have to be kept at a certain temperature (for example, chilled or warmed), if so that won't be easy to travel with
- Does it feel patriotic? I want it to stand out and that's easy to do by incorporating the colors red, white and blue
- Will it be a crowd pleaser?
